"Gamma Phi Beta Sorority's unwavering dedication, enthusiasm and

support of Camp Fire USA is unrivaled. Together, they are making

memories that will last a lifetime for the youth served."

    - Keith Harrison, Executive Director of Camp Fire USA

    Greater Dayton Area Council

At the Gamma Phi Beta Convention in 2002, representatives voted to collaborate with Campfire USA to further Gamma Phi Beta's efforts to develop caring, confident women, and future leaders.

Camp Fire USA is one of the nation's leading non-profit youth development organizations, currently serving nearly 750,000 children and youth annually. Camp Fire USA provides all-inclusive, coeducational programs in hundreds of communities across the United States.

Founded in 1910, Camp Fire USA's outcome-based programs include youth leadership, self-reliance, after school groups, camping and environmental education and child care. This organization focuses on taking underprivileged children and developing them into confident leaders. Serving youth from birth to 21, Camp Fire USA helps boys and girls learn and play side by side in comfortable, informal settings.

As the first nonsectarian, interracial organization for girls in the United States, Camp Fire USA takes pride in its long-standing commitment to providing fun programs and services to all children and families in America. We are inclusive, open to every person in the communities we serve, welcoming children, youth and adults regardless of race, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, sexual orientation or other aspect of diversity. Camp Fire USA's programs are designed and implemented to reduce sex-role, racial and cultural stereotypes and to foster positive intercultural relationships.

What does Gamma Phi Beta do to Help?

    • Gamma Phi Beta chapters support Camp Fire Council through volunteer work, providing financial support, and by sponsoring young girls in the Camp Fire program to help encourage self-confidence and leadership.
    • Cresent Classic: Every Gamma Phi Beta chapter across the country hosts an annual "Cresent Classic" which is a fundraiser to help support Camp Fire USA. Every year, our chapter at Michigan State hosts a Pancake Breakfast for the community. Most recently, our breakfast in 2011 raised close to $1,500 for Camp Fire.
