Our Scholarship
Scholarship Mission Statement:
"Our mission is to promote scholastic achievement throughout the greek community by
enriching and increasing cultivation of knowledge, integrity, and academic excellence."
Intellectual growth is one of the core values of Gamma Phi Beta. Our chapter utilizes a Scholarship Chairwoman to whom chapter members look to for guidance and support. This chairwoman oversees numerous scholarship programs put in place to promote high standards of learning and scholarship for our members.
Scholastic Opportunities
- Gamma Phi Beta's study hour system is a weekly requirement that chapter members fulfill through proctored hours. Study hour sessions are held every night at the chapter house and main library.
- Group Study System: With membership of 115 women, the scholarship chair helps connect sisters with similar classes and also helps younger members find older sisters who can act as a tutor.
Incentives
- Scholar Dollars are a special aspect of Beta Delta's scholarship plan. Each week, members can earn "scholar dollars" by exceeding their required amount of proctored study hours. The more hours members do, the more "money" they can earn. At the end of every semester, there is a raffle where "scholar dollars" are used to to "buy" prizes. The prizes are donations from parents or local businesses, and are in the form of gift cards or other small gifts. Please contact our Education Vice President, Kristin Steinmetz for information on how to donate! Her contact information is below.
Scholarships
- The Gamma Phi Beta Foundation provides financial aid, scholarships and grants to both collegiate and alumnae members for undergraduate and graduate education.
- The MSU Panhellenic Council also sponsors an annual scholarship for members of the Greek community.
